What is your food/beverage minimum?
Kellerman’s does not have a food/beverage minimum. You work directly with your caterer. There will be a 12% surcharge assessed to the caterer that they will pay directly to Kellerman’s. It is the caterer’s responsibility to pay this charge and it will be incorporated into your bill from the caterer you choose.
What is the 12% KEC Surcharge on Catering and Event Decor services?
A 12% fee is charged by catering and event decorating vendors as a separate, non-taxed item on their invoice to you. The vendors then pay the 12% to Kellerman’s Event Center for their exclusive partnership with us. Rather than a hidden fee within our rental contract, the surcharge is explained in detail by KEC consultants. The catering/decorating vendors charge this as a separate line item rather than changing/raising their prices to accommodate each venue they may provide services for.
What is your guest count capacity?
250 for dinner; 300 if it is a casual appetizer-hors’ douvre station. Hi tops and seating allows for 150-200 maximum. The guest count capacity for a wedding ceremony held at KEC with the need to flip the room for a reception is limited to 150 due to non-access to outdoor spaces such as the courtyard, etc.
What are my bar service options?
The Alchemist Parlor will provide bar service and explain the options available. You may NOT bring in your own alcohol or other beverages.
Does all food have to come through one of your preferred caterers?
Yes, all meals must come through one of our preferred caterers. You may bring in dessert through any licensed baker. You are not allowed to serve your own food – with the exception of packaged dry snacks and nuts (popcorn or peanuts not allowed).
What is your cake-cutting fee?
We do not charge a cake-cutting fee. You may bring in your dessert through any licensed baker.
Yes, we have a lift for easy access, and one restroom is handicap accessible.
What about parking?
There is ample, free parking with some handicapped designations. There is a lot north and south of the event center. There is also street parking all within one block east of the building.
Is the building air conditioned?
How many restrooms do you have?
There are 3 women’s restrooms and 4 men’s rooms on the main floor. An additional unisex restroom is on the lower level.
Do you have a secure room for my belongings and gifts?
Yes, there is a locked and private room for your use.
Can we bring our own table decorations?
Yes; however anything hanging, chair covers, table linens, arbors, etc. must be provided by one of our preferred decor vendors.
Are there any decoration restrictions?
Candles must be enclosed; all items hung must be done by one of our preferred decorating vendors. No rice, confetti, taping, pinning or nailing on walls. See our “Policies & Rental Contract” for details.
Do you have any locations nearby for taking photographs?
In addition to our charming, historic facility, we also have a beautiful courtyard that’s perfect for your photographs. Within easy walking distance you will also find the well-known Gazebo on White Bear Lake, Railroad Park, and many areas along the lakeshore.
